My efforts on this web site are dedicated to all that came to America from Telemark, with special recognition to my two sets of great-great-grandparents from Vestfjorddalen in Tinn, Telemark:
Ole Østensen Bøen & Astrid Johnsdatter Bøen, and
Tov Østensen Kaase & Astrid Kjetilsdatter Tveito.

My ancestors came to America early and they got caught up in the Civil War and the Indian War of 1862 in Minnesota. I have a rich pioneer family history.
I have visited the ancestral farms in Tinn, Telemark and hope to return often. Going back through the generations, the farm names were Bøen, Tveito, Bøkasse, Bømogen, Såheim, Vemork, Gjøystdal, Ingolvsland, Blomhaugan, and others.
It has been my pleasure to author quite a number of articles for Telesoga. These articles can be found at my personal website along with speeches, pictures, etc.
