The early Telesoga issues are in Norwegian. Are you wondering if you can pick out your ancestors from these issues, without fully understanding the Norwegian language? Let's try a short exercise to see if you can pick out the key words:
Look at this clip from an early Telesoga. Look at the title. Can you see that this article might be about the Kensington Rune Stone? Read on. Do you see that it starts out "In august of 1898"? Do you see "Kensington in Douglas County" in the second line?
Notice that the second paragraph starts out with "8 Goths and 22 Norsemen".
Can you read the last paragraph? It starts out with "the stone was found by Olaf Øhman" and ends with the words "he came to America in".
See, you can read enough of the old Norwegian to get by just fine.
