If there was one central theme on this 100th anniversary year of Telelaget it centered on Torkel Oftelie of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He was honored for his early work with Telelaget of America, as were other founders of the Telelag. Many of the Oftelie descendants were on hand for our 100 year anniversary banquet and the dedication at the Oftelie gravesite in the cemetery at Fergus falls. Alice Kirn was instrumental in orchastrating the events honoring Torkel. Gene Estensen supported her by making two speeches honoring Torkel.
