In the 1870 census of Nicollet County, there is a Syver Swenson
who was born about 1836. His
name is not found in following censuses. [Probably not Swen Swenson who was
born in Hol, Hallingdal, Norway on November 29, 1836, came to Nicollet County
in 1858, lived in Section 22, was father of political sons Lauritz Selmer, Carl
Ludvig, and Oscar Adolph, was a member of the 1886 Minnesota Legislature, was
a leader in agricultural and farm cooperative activity in southern Minnesota,
and died in New Sweden Townshipon March 4, 1905.]
