Anne Haugen Wagn and Svein Erik Odden guided 35 to 40 people from Telemark to the American Midwest. What an excellent opportunity this was to meet our friends from Norway. They had the following schedule:
Day 1; Thursday, Sept. 15 - Norway to Chicago with arrival at
17:30.
Day 2; Friday, Sept. 16 - Tour Chicago then on to Stoughton, Wisconsin. Two
nights there.
Day 3; Saturday, Sept. 17 - They will be visiting Madison and will be returning
to Soughton for a lunch with the Sons of Norway. Carol and Neil Johnson have
arranged this gathering. Sons of Norway members will be meeting them for social
time.
Day 4; Sunday, Sept. 18 - Stoughton to Decorah for lunch. Then on to Preston
where they will stay for two nights. There will be socializing and eating with
Telelaget members at the Branding Iron Restaurant of Preston in the evening.
Day 5; Monday, Sept. 19 - Stay in Preston area. They have been invited to visit
the farm of Audrey and Dale Overland (Telelag members). They will also go on
an Amish Tour.
Day 6; Tuesday, Sept. 20 - Depart for Northfield for two nights stay. Arnold
Ness and Telelaget have arranged for an evening meal at the Veteran's Club.
Day 7; Wednesday, Sept. 21 - Depart Northfield to visit the Mall of America,
then return to Northfield.
Day 8; Thursday, Sept. 22 - Depart for Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to visit Door
County. Lunch in Wausau.
Day 9, Friday, Sept. 23 - Depart for Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where they will stay two nights.
Day 10, Saturday, Sept. 24 - Day off in Fond du Lac.
Day 11, Sunday, Sept. 25 - Depart for Norway from Chicago.
