Kjaerlig er eders minde
The memories of you are beloved
Some of our Norwegian-American ancestors became famous and they are
featured at their own Hall
of Fame. Others are recognized for their high
attainment. However, for the majority of us, our hard working ancestors
are famous but to us. You are invited to preserve their memory below.
Margaret Humphrey has provided us some pictures and family information
on her Ole O. Haugse family, originally from
Tinn, Telemark.
Val Hvidston has provided us
with the history of Telemark families Brauti, Aamtveit, Lonnegrav, Haukom
and others.
Marty McKelvey would like us to enjoy
this picture and history of her Bøen family ancestors.
A.A. Grover, Telelaget member, has provided
some links with pictures of her Norwegian Ancestors.
Deb Nelson Gourley
presents her Norwegian Ancestry Series at the Fillmore County Journal.
Deb is the layout editor for the Journal. She was raised SE of Preston,
Minnesota, at Amherst. Her Bøen family
tree is presented here.
"Snowshoe
Thompson" became a legend of the old west. He was born Jon Torsteinsen
Rue in Tinn, Telemark.
Sondre Norheim is
recognized worldwide as the Father of Modern Skiing. This poor cotter
from Telemark played a crucial role in transforming skiing from means
of transportation into enjoyment and sports.
