Additional Information:  Herbjen’s parents: Ole (Ole Leiulvsen) and Signe (Signe Herbjørnsdatter Moe) Vaa; Torbjor’s parents: Hålge and Torbjor Rollag.  None of these paraents came to America.  Knut was the only child born in America.  At age 19, Knut bought land in Grant County and brought his parents to live with him.  Knut married Sarah Flatestal in 1882.  After Herbjen found too many Vaa names in Grant County he had the courts change his name to Waugh.  Herbjen and Ole Flatestal (contact’s great-grandfathers) are pictured in the 100th anniversary booklet of the Greenfield Lutheran Church (near Harmony Minnesota.
