Gunleik Johnson Bøen accompanied his sister Astrid and her husband Ole Østensen Bøen (Ole Estensen) to America in 1851.  Then he disappears.  Ole and Astrid went on to Norseland at St. Peter, Minnesota where they were among the first settlers in Nicollet County, Minnesota.  Gunleik’s parents were John Gunleiksen Mæland / Bøen and Liv Gunulvsdatter Ingolvsland.
