Østein was born at Ingolvsland in 1790.  We know he lived at Tveito, Berge and Bakhus before living at Bøen.  His parents were Nils Olsen Tveito and Aagoth Gunnulvsdatter Ingolvsland.  His grandparents were Ola Augustinusen Såheim and Helga Nielsdatter Miland.  Aase’s parents were Torstein Gunlechsen Bøen and Birgitte Torjersdatter.  Østein was an old man at age 70 when his son Nils brought him to Harmony.  He had not seen his pioneer son Torstein for 18 years and his son Ole for 9 years.
